Who am I? - the slightly longer version
What am I?
To start, I want to be clear about what I’m not. And the first thing for that, is that I'm not generally social ept. Or, rather, I'm usually quite socially inept.
Second thing, I’m not generally an original content creator. I write a few blog posts, and make a few videos, but it’s not my strength, nor my main purpose.
I’m not doing original manuscript work like Peter Williams. I’m not doing scientific research like Hugh Ross. I’m not writing perennial bestsellers like Greg Koukl.
Instead, I read voraciously so I can help connect people with the research and resources they need.
I am a Christian resource consultant. I specialize in apologetics but deal with everything I can get my hands on. I love helping connect people to what they need or simplify something they’re working on. What does this look like?
For starters, there are a few things I am particularly passionate about, starting with:
- Logos: I love Logos Bible Software, and I’d love to help you get started with it or learn how to use it better! I’m not a paid affiliate, so I’m free to show you the free stuff, the discounts, the best way to expand your library.
- CIA: as a repeat graduate ('21, '23) of the Crossexamined Instructors Academy, I found this a fantastic conference! Definitely one of, if not the very best I’ve ever attended!Â
- Colson Fellows: I'm a C17/'22 commissioned Colson Fellow. This is an excellent, year-long program! No matter where you are in your life, no matter if you are a ministry leader or just show up for church on Sunday mornings, this is a program you should seriously consider! However, it’s also one of the most challenging Christian programs, universities aside.
- Both CIA and Colson Fellows are very intensive (three-day or one-year) programs, so if you are thinking about attending, especially if you think you aren’t ready, please reach out to me! I’d love to help you get ready, or just encourage you if you already are ready!
Who do I help?
- Lay Christians:
- Are you facing questions from your family, friends, or coworkers that you don’t have answers for? Are you overwhelmed by the number of resources available and have no idea where to start? Let me help you! I can help you identify the best resources for where you’re at, whether that’s beginner, intermediate, advanced levels, or whether you need resources on specific topics. So let’s talk; let’s get to work figuring this out!
- Ministry leaders:
- Are you trying to start a ministry? Are you trying to get more awareness for your existing ministry? Want someone to review some of your content or your website? Reach out! I’d love to talk with you and help you develop your ministry! I can connect you with various groups who might be able to use your content; I can forward key articles or videos along; I can be a reasonably objective outsider who can give you feedback on how you’re doing.
- Church leaders:
- The statistics these days are that roughly 2% of Americans have a biblical worldview, even though 35% of Americans claim to be Christian. Do you know how many of those people are in your church? Let me connect you with the research for these numbers; let me connect you with the research about why people are leaving the church; let me help connect you with the resources that can help you help your congregation to withstand this great falling away. Let me connect you with the ministries that are specifically designed to help you with this. Are you trying to start a ministry of caring for people, such as a crisis pregnancy center? Let me help connect you with ministries that are already up and running for advice; let me help connect you with training resources for your staff.
- Well-established apologists:
- Do you want fellowship? Let’s get together. Need help finding the right advanced resources for your study? I can help!Â
